Quilt With Us

Yesterday was one wild day here in the St Croix Valley.  Arthur raised havoc for hours toppling tree's (some went through the roof of houses) and shutting off power to several towns. I was lucky my power was only out an hour or so but others are still without it.  The rain came down in buckets causing some flooding.

I'm feeling better each day and able to spend more time in my sewing room. I still have to take 45 min. 4 times a day to elevate my leg and I can't sit or stand for long periods of time but the nice thing about sewing is your up and down cutting, sewing and ironing so I'm not doing any one thing for any length of time.  I'm so grateful to be doing my own errands and housework.  I sent Bud to the store while I was unable to drive to get groceries.  I had on my list 2 packages of Stouffers stuffed green peppers and he brought back one large green pepper and two boxes of Stove Top stuffing.  LOL

Good to hear from you!  We have been out of touch for a few days visiting our son.  They don't have TV and we pretty much hadn't kept up with weather in other parts of the country.  Glad you weren't hit too hard.

Here is the Jeannie Robertson video Janet referred to about sending the husband "Left Brain" to the grocery store.  It cracks me up.

LOL I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a problem sending a man to do my errands.  Linda sorry to hear about your health problems. I'll put you on my prayer list.

I forgot to mention in my other comment that I'm happy to hear you are feeling better, Irene! A little stronger each day!

LOL - yep, even being specific when sending DH to the store about what to buy does not always translate to what he buys. Gotta love them.   So glad you were spared from the damage of Arthur. You didn't need any more to deal with.  Glad you're getting better - one day at a time!

So glad you continue to improve, and you are able to spend some time in your sewing room.  It sounds like you are still listening to your body, and taking care of yourself well.

Love the shopping trip story!

Glad Irene you are feeling better. I have been in the same boat, not the storm but health wise.  Take care I will pray for your continual progress. I will have my second eye worked on on Wed. I do hope nothing goes wrong. My heart has problems. So I greatly understand, my husband has to wait on me and our disabled daughter. At least my daughter has tried to help get things off the floor for me, since I can not have my head lower than my heart or I will have a big headache and could get a blood clot in my eye or somewhere else. It is no fun. I got dizzy yesterday trying to cut out some blocks.

Irene, Happy to hear you are mending well. It takes time and you are doing so well, that's great to hear. Sorry about the storm, but glad it didn't do damage to your home. Take care and we will all keep a listen for your continued progress.

Hugs to you and have a wonderful day!

I have a 'hubby to the store' story. When I was expecting our middle son, I was on bed rest for the last 2 months of my pregnancy. That left the grocery shopping to dear Mike. For the first trip. I handed him the list with the coupons for most of the items on my list. He came back, handed me the receipt AND the coupons. The clerk must have known he was clueless because she still deducted the coupons!
