After having a fabulous September with temps way above normal, we have returned to more normal, crispy fall days.
I have had abusy couple of weeks, but finally managed to get back into my quilting room yesterday and finish the machine quilting on two lap quilts. These are for VQC cancer patients. Today I began the quilting process on an heirloom wall hanging that I am doing with handkerchiefs that my MIL saved throughout her lifetime. When she passed away, we found enough of them that each daughter or DIL could have close to a dozen. Many of them were fine Irish linen. I am currently plotting the quilting for the piece. I finished the centre block, but now have to decide what to do on all the blocks surrounding it. It is a challenge, but sometimes I just have to let it percolate for a while for an idea to grow. That is part of the fun of quilting. The creativity allowed is just wonderful.
