Hey I've already had a busy day. Went to work and left early thinking I would get some GS Aiden time in before mom and dad got home but NOOOO , "Mom, when you pick Aiden up at the daycare can you bring him up so I can visit with him?" "DD," I say "you get off work three hours after I pick him up, can't you wait?"
"No I have to take him half way to his other GM in Yakima."
Even before she takes another breath, I have this figured out.
"Mom wanna go with me to drop him off?" She asked
Those of you in Washington will understand the locations here.
Pick Aiden up at 1pm in Tacoma, drive to Auburn, 20 minute drive on the freeway and wait for DD to get off work at 4:30 then drive to North Bend another 40 minutes away by freeway to swap Aiden out to his other set of grandparents. Give or take a stop for shopping, I know my daughter, I wouldn't get home until after 7 or 8 pm.
"No," says I. " I will take him to North Bend and drop him off."
DD cries at this point, "Mom I want to say goodbye to him."
Insert prayers here that I don't kill my DD for this. I made it to Auburn. Popped in to see DD. Before I could get away she grabbed the car load of baby necessities he had to have, ok she filled my trunk and the back seat around Aidens car seat. At this point I'm thinking, she had this planned pretty well, and then I was thinking I'm off the hook for babysitting on Friday, this little guy isn't coming back till the weekend. Aidens other grandparents called, they were already in North Bend waiting for him, and off I go to North Bend.
I'm still waiting to hear if I'm up for babysitting on Friday. I promise, no more running around the state no matter what DD wants.
Oh and happy new year. Lets not set off too many fireworks, I will be sleeping when the new year rolls in, I hope.
