So, have you been wondering where that Easter chapter has been? I suppose now I should tell you. I have been kind of "busy" the last few days-since the kids left. Monday was going to be my "downtime" day remember? Well, that didn't quite happen...
On Monday afternoon, I was offered my own worldwide Internet Radio show! It seems our little town of Roseville and our crazy guild has caught the attention of quite a many people around cyberspace.
Each morning, while I sit with my coffee in hand and rouse myself for another day of writing and designing I browse my site from "behind the scenes". I have tools that show me your city and how many times you have "hit" my site in the last 7 days, 30 days, 45 days and All Time. I can't see your email addresses or who you are, just your numbers. I also have a graph that gives me a daily number showing for instance on Wednesday how many visitors I had total. I can see what pages are being read the most and generally if I have picked up any new fans, based on where the numbers fall on the chapters.
Never in my life did I think something like this would happen. I spoke with the CEO of the station, had and interview and pitched my show idea-that was it. Now, I am out and about in search of sponsors for my show. (I chose this option due to the fact that I refuse to have inappropriate ads on my hour of programming...and I think we know some names of those products...)
My show format will consist of a call-in from fans of the novels, quilters around the world and a general discussion, interviews with quilters/designers/authors/ charity organizations in need of items from quilters, Rhonda's Recipes and a Roseville segment where I either tell some stories about what's happening around town or have a "real life" character on the air with me. I haven't decided if I will be my real self or "Rhonda Bauer from Friends Squared Quilts" yet when I am on. Mancave (in real life remember was in radio/tv news for many years) has suggested that I be myself, as the Roseville "avatar" would be difficult to sustain week after week.
Once the ad time is sold I will know more about time slots and etc. I hope that once I am up and running, you will all tune in! I am also available for bookings for retreats and guild events around the country-I can do the show from anywhere I have a computer and the Internet! I have some dates for the Fall out on the east coast. If you are interested in having me come, email me at the address below and we will see if we can group together a couple of 'gigs' to save your guild some money on travel and etc.
So, I am off to Roseville now! I promise I will get the Easter chapter up this morning. I need to keep on schedule! Thanks for all the reminders that you are patiently waiting-it keeps me accountable! Also to my big fan out there in Seattle...uh, yeah. One of these days we're meeting at Karen's Kandy Kitchen for a big pot of coffee and some of her caramel rolls...
Thank you all for reading my novels. It definately looks like we're heading into book three very soon!
Words cannot express my gratitude for your support--
