Quilt With Us

I finished Jacob's "Big Sky Lodge" quilt yesterday.  This was the rag quilt kit sold on CT's.  It hasn't been washed yet so the frayed part on the back doesn't have that wonderful look yet that it gets after washing but still turned out really well.  I shook it really good from the deck and got the frayed edges to stand up somewhat.  Now I have 2 more to make for the boys.  Will take a break in between first, I want to make the sunflower kit I bought and then will go back to my BSLodge kits.  Thanks again CT's for coming up with such an awesome fabric line!!!!

It's beatiful Linda.  I make most of my baby quilts with flannel.  Your colors are gorgeous.

Looking good, Linda 'Sue'. Don't you just love these flannels! They have such a warm, cozy feel to them. Must finish mine this week. Seeing yours finished is spurring me on to my quilting frame!

They are both beautiful quilts.  I have done a few rag quilts.  They are nice.

Debbie, so far I have washed my rag quilts at home.  They do fine.  I have one really big one but we also have a good size washer and dryer.  I did not wash the one above, I told my dil how to do it because my dgs wanted to take it home. The more you wash them the softer they get and they are heavier too and soooooo  warm!!!

Been working on the sunflower quilt for 2 days.  I am so excited about this one.  This is my first log cabin quilt.  I have made log cabin blocks for pot holders but this is my first quilt.  .

Love my swing on my deck, dh put it out there for me, the dogs are loving the deck since it has turned warm.  Skeeter is going up and down but we have to take Ginger down and bring her back up.  We are working with her though.  I have never seen a dog that loves to run like she does.  Skeeter can't keep up with her!!!

Wonderful quilts. The pictures of them and the porch swing makes me want to sit out there and sip my coffee.

Wonderful Man quilt.  Besides the flannel you did  it with rag edges...both things my guys like.  Do you wash your rag quilts at home or do you take them to a laundry mat?  I have a rag one I'm working on now and all it needs is to cut the edges and wash it unless I decide to make it a little larger that is. Can't wait to see your sunflower quilt in the near future.

Great quilt- very rustic.  When I first saw picture I was thinking it was front and back of 1 quilt, can see a little of the rag element. Jacob will love it.  CT has some great kits.

FYI, the top picture is the front of the quilt, the bottom picture is the back of the same quilt.  The back is the rag side.  Thanks for your comments

Sharon keep me posted on what the spine doc says.

Barb I am pretty traditional myself in my favs!!

Linda, Love both of your quilts and the top one has given me an idea for the flannel material I bought when in AK almost 3 yrs ago. Your grandsons will love their quilts. I agree that you could just wrap up in one by the fire and read.
