Quilt With Us

Good evening all. I am too tired right now to spend time transferring photos so I apologize for that. I’ll work on today’s photos and get them to you tomorrow. Our drive from Billings to Rapid City was really nice. Just before we got to Gillette WY, we saw a mama Antelope nursing her baby and wouldn’t you know I couldn’t get my camera turned ON for all the tea in China. I was so mad that I sat holding my camera in the ON mode for 120 miles thinking I would see something that wonderful again. Well, guess what…….yep you got it…..not only did I not see a mama and baby I hardly saw any Antelope at all and if I did they were so far away they looked like dots in the distance. DH was thrilled when we did the mileage today as we managed to get 9.7 mpg at one point. Made his day. Boy is he easy to please or what. The countryside was amazing again today and ……oh, when we went through southern Montana we saw a lot of people on horses and noticed that several of them were Native Americans and then I remembered that tomorrow, June 25th is the anniversary of the Little Big Horn battle. (I think it’s something like the 134th) I wonder if they do a re-enactment. It would be really cool to watch I think. My brother in Virginia does Civil War re=enactments and loves it. I sent him a “neener-neener” email. Yes, I know……bad girl. He’s just fun to tease. Mom decided it was a good evening to take a shower so after moving in a cinder block and laying towels everywhere then giving her a heave ho I got her into the shower without any bumped elbows or knocked heads. Teaching her how to use the ultra-top-secret facet was the most fun of the day. She thought she had it down then….. I heard a scream. I went to check on her and she froze herself with cold water. Funny lady. Well, it’s off to bed. If I think of anything I forgot I’ll include it tomorrow. Oh, here’s the word of the day. “Baaxuwuaashe”. Saw it on a freeway sign in Montana. Without doing goggle, your guess is as good as mine.

PS: Thank you all for your comments. Again, sorry for no photos. You all are just too nice to me. Lori, I honked, or Bruce honked three times when we saw the Sundance sign....hope you heard us. KarenM, I promise to get Kassie to model for you. She just got a "shampoo-set-hold the bow" and looks good for a change. She is such a tomboy that she won't be clean and cute for long.

Baaxuwuaashe means flour mill in the Crow language. I had to look it up!

Just kidding you deserve a day off too and not like you don't have any responsibility eh? Sorry you missed Mama antelope and baby. Just have a safe trip. Hugs to you.

Photos can wait, as Arlene says, but we do need to have your "fix" for the day! I can just imagine the shower scene LOL. God love you and your family, thanks for the fun memories.....(but I am looking forward to the photos, too!) LOL

Photos can wait but the best picture is the mental image I have of the shower incident - and that cannot be posted. My parents lived/traveled in an RV for many years - you are reviving wonderful memories and creating a few new images that bring much laughter. Thanks for sharing.......

What, you weren't singing "Home Home on the Range" as you drove? Sounds like another fun and humorously adventurous day. I can just picture the whole episode with mom and the shower. LOL. I was waiting to hear that your camera battery died with leaving it on so long. We're headed down to Mt. Hood today to see our middle son and deliver the wolves quilt to him for his birthday. Happy traveling to you and may the gas mileage angels continue to be with your DH.

Reading your most recent blog I discovered we have three things in common....1). A camera that choses not to work at the most inopportune time 2). A husband who gets excited over good gas mileage and 3). A dog that can't stay clean for longer than 5 minutes! Once again, thanks for the update, your blogs always make me smile and are a great way to begin my day!

Mother Nature is wonderful, too bad your camera didn't cooperate in capturing the Antelope and her baby. The main thing is your having a grand ole time and sharing it with all of us. You guy's sure sound like fun people to be around.

Debbie, I might not see the pics until tomorrow but I think I am doing a fairly good job of visulizing it in my mind. I will see how well I did tomorrow. Thanks and we appreciate it every time you take us on vacation with you. Tell DH we said "Thanks" also.

Not only do I think I heard the horn honk but I think I heard your poor mom scream. Using RV's are tricky. Wish I could get my mom to travel with us. As for all the babies you missed they are at my place eating flowers. They are all over our place plus the deer not to mention the turkies. Have a wonderful evening. Thanks so much for sharing.
