I will first place a purple border no matter what border option I choose.
Border options are as follows:
Bottom: this was my original option. I think it compliments the focal block design! (I like it the best! But somehow got distracted with more intricate patterns...they always say go with your 1st instinct!)
Bottom Left: I may use this option as my top & bottom borders, as I don't want to increase the length of the quilt by adding to much on borders.
Middle Left: Border blocks I posted yesterday...but set on-point. I may see how these would look as corner stones as someone mentioned yesterday! (May have been PQ, sorry I can't remember!)
Whoa...as I write this I think I may see my problem....I'm giving myself way to many options! However, as I look at the picture, I really am drawn to the blocks at the bottom set on-point with some of the purple background fabric! I am making a decision today...otherwise, I'm going to need a straight jacket. And I don't think I would get much sewn if that were the case! Thank you all for your knowledge and input! Georgia ô ¿ ô

Comment by Debbie Snyder/WA on March 2, 2013 at 9:38am Yeah! You got it. The bottom is my fav too. Now just "do it" before more doubts trickle in.
Comment by Terry F on March 1, 2013 at 4:49pm Georgia, are you squinting? I always squint when trying out options; doesn't help much, but it gives my face lines character. I like the bottom row the best.
Comment by Linda Christianson on February 28, 2013 at 5:12pm I vote for the bottom one. It does set the center off and goes with the theme.
Comment by Barbara Graham on February 27, 2013 at 10:09am Here's hoping the straight jacket won't be necessary! Have fun.
Comment by Barb/WI on February 27, 2013 at 9:45am I was thinking like Pam...maybe a different border color to give some contrast to the purple. But, the bottom line is, play away! You will know what's right for your quilt. Something will just jump out at you, and it will be beautiful.
Comment by B J Elder/WA on February 27, 2013 at 7:59am Can't wait to see what you decide and post it all together. It's looking great.
Comment by Prairie Quilter/NE on February 27, 2013 at 6:10am I like the blocks set on point - for some reason it diminishes the "busyness" of the border blocks in yesterday's picture. Maybe because there is more background for the eye to rest. I think your instincts are good and you'll be happiest when you go with what you know you like. I agonize in making these types of decisions, too, so I can relate! :)
Comment by Mary, Tewksbury MA on February 27, 2013 at 5:36am Problem is they all work!! I like bottom set on points blocks too- go with your instinct.
Comment by Pam/NY on February 27, 2013 at 5:16am I like the bottom set also...have you tried a different background color that is in the blocks other than purple to see what kind of contrast that would give? I know it is easy to over think this! You're getting there!
