Quilt With Us

I really do love to embroider.  It's just so relaxing to me, and these days I haven't been in much of a sewing mood, but embroidery...well that's a different story.  My first embroidery patterns I did for Smooth Sailing were very well received to my surprise and I even had requests to make some more patterns.  So, that's just what I did!  Using Rhapsody of Reds as my muse I was really inspired to design an embroidery for a decorative pillow.  So I took some of the main circular motifs from the Rhapsody & Cartouche prints and had fun with the placement of my design, by deliberately having the motifs cut off.

I wanted to include each 3 motifs so that one can customize and change up the layout of the design if they choose to, or so one could make up multiple pillows. Here are some alternate examples.

If you happened to have any of the Symphony of Blues collection, you can still make up this pillow by using blue thread instead.  Or any color thread for that matter, this design in a rainbow of colors would also be very pretty.  The possibilities are endless!

Since the embroidery design is rather intricate and condensed I wanted to keep the stitching very basic, so the pattern only consists of the Back Stich, Satin Stitch and French Knots.  So this will be great for a beginner as well as a very experienced person.  Enjoy!!

Amanda, I won't like, this was not a quick project, but the end result was definitely well worth it!  I agree, I'm excited to see other versions people will come up with!

Beautiful! I love to embroider, but I don't do it as often as I used to. With hand quilting, epp, hand embroidery, etc... there doesn't seem to be enough time for hand work. This pillow is very pretty, though, I would love to see what all people do with it, it is gorgeous in the reds and blues, and I  think it would be neat in all the colors!

So much versatility all in one collection!
