Quilt With Us

Here is a quilted casserole carrier made from a free pattern. I don't like that the inside flaps do not meet in the middle. It seems to me that heat will escape. (When you are as far away from town as what we are, it makes a difference.) I think a towel will still need to be laid in here to keep things warm. If I were to make it again, I'd change the pattern so those flaps overlap and use a velcro closure or modify the ties. I do like the little spoon pocket, though and it was a fun way to use up a kitchen novelty fabric that I had left over from another project. (This is for a 9 x 13 pan.)

What a bummer... the link doesn't work anymore. You did a lovely job on this, however!

Great project!!--what a lovely presentation it makes!! I totally agree--there should be overlap to keep the insulation continuous--great idea for presents!!

Nice job, PQ!! I agree, the flaps need to be a tad longer! I've printed the pattern and plan to make it up for a gift for Christmas!! Thanks so much for sharing!!

I really like this pattern. Do you remember where you got the free pattern? I agree about the flaps not meeting. Easy fix. Nice job on it.

Would make a nice shower gift, complete with pan, and serving spoons. Where did you get the recipe?
