Quilt With Us

I've been working for 2 years on a celtic quilt "Celtic Quilt Designs" by Philomena Durcan Wiechec. Half way through, our son became engaged, so it then became 'The Wedding Quilt' ....and along with that came a deadline.....July 19th.....Well it's DONE!!!!
All the hand applique and hand quilting was worth it.....I hope now I really can wrap it up and give it away!!!
There are a few more close up pictures on my site if you'd like to have a look.

This quilt is so lovely! Where did you get the pattern for this? I have a celtic quilt book, but these patterns are beautiful.

Anne. I finially have my first 2 blocks done on my own Celtic Quilt. # 9 and # 10. although when I told hubby what colors it was he said that it is Irish and should be in greens. well, sorry, I am not a "green" person, that and pink are two colors that I have a hard time working on.

anyway, the photos are posted if you want a look see. and I want to thank you for doing your quilt so that I could see it and inspired me to do one of my own.

Thanks again Anne! Love it!

This is stunning. Your hand quilting is wonderful as well - what a lucky bride & groom.

BEAUTIFUL! We all know the work and love that goes in a quilt and each and every stitch! What a wonderful qift for bride and groom, I am sure it will handled with love and care and a lot of pride.

What a beautiful quilt! I admire you for making a quilt of Celtic blocks. I made ONE pillow with a Celtic design and that was enough for me. You must have patience, good eye sight and dedication to do a quilt of these blocks.

Thank you ladies for all your kind comments.....I'm blushing! Seriously though, I think it takes another quilter to truly appreciate the long hours and dedication to finish a project. This one was so fun to work on, as every block was different and had it's own challenges. I think we probably all work along in our little sewing rooms and wonder if anyone will appreciate their 'homemade' gift. (I'm sure the recipients of this one will.) It really makes us feel good to have a fellow quilter admire and comment on our work....so thank you VERY much!!
