DD sent this to me. Their first baby is due in about 8 weeks. Does she know her momma or what?!

I love that! Theresa's always doing that to Amanda. She always says "well, my Grandma says." Then I get in trouble.
Oh, Barbara. This is what makes you a great mystery writer. You think of everything!
Love the picture! I live 950 miles away, so there is no chance of my being able to get my hands on the little one so soon. Fight your way to the front. Maybe you can ask one of their neighbors to call and report their comings and goings. :)
Oh Mary...You are in big trouble...THE FIRST BABY IS "OUR" baby!!!! lol the sooner they realize it...the better for all involved!!!!!
Last minute stitching is fine as long as it isn't stitched to the baby's diaper as you hold him/her. My mom was in WA and I was in CA when our DD was born. She came late, I was in the hospital for several days before I went into labor. Once the actual labor started Mom got on a bus, heading down (to Long Beach - near Los Angeles). At every bus stop she'd call the hospital for an update. It was a long labor. It was so nice to have her get there -- especially because I got that terrible headache you can get from spinals.
Anyway, PQ.... long route to say, go when you want to go and be grandma. I'm sure your DD will be happy to have you there when that precious bundle arrives.
Pam - that would be my plan, but I was too afraid to say it out loud. ;)
Shannon & Donna - I'm just paying for my own raisin'. I didn't want anyone at the hospital with me either (except DH), so though our parents knew when we'd headed that way, they stayed away until after baby was born. I wasn't thinking into the future, was I? It seems different now that the shoe is on the other foot!
And Shannon, the way I'm going, I MIGHT be stitching down the binding on a baby quilt right up to the last minute!
I agree. You need to be there - stand your ground Grandma!!!
Tell your DD that you really want to be there!! I agree. The parking lot might be cold by then but what's wrong with a waiting room? You could sit there binding the quilt LOL. How exciting. I am very happy for you.
I would camp out in the parking lot a week before due date...don't tell the other gramma...the first to hold the baby is the one they like best!!!!! lol I held the boys within 15 minutes...it was heaven!
I'm a little bit in panic mode thinking ONLY EIGHT WEEKS? WHAT?!? Where did the time go?
She says they aren't calling the grandma's until AFTER the baby is born. We're both 3 hours away from the hospital. I'm thinking the grammas need to protest! We could AT LEAST be sitting in the hospital parking lot ready to race in and hold that new baby as soon as it is born, right?
