Does anyone have any ideas on how to make a pieced circular/braided rope? I know how to piece a braid, but I need it be circular. I am wanting do the Texas Lone Star with the look of a rope circled around it. Is there such a pattern?

Found it Linda! I think I have to add a throat plate to my machine to use the tools. I may applique as Prairie Quilter suggested. Just need a template for that, shouldn't hard to come up with something. I have been wanting to buy templates to play with, just doesn't seem to be enough time to play these days. Thank you for the information, very helpful!!! :)
Hope you were able to find the site. If not I found my tool. The tool is called Rope Tool designed by Nancy Johnston www.quiltersrule.com (800)343-8671. My husband Liked the idea. Might be fun to do with bias tape. Would take a lot of marking and planning.
If you would like a tool to help do it on the longarm look at Quilter's Rule. com. It does take lots of practice. It has two sizes. It is much like "s" curve.
Yes that is exactly what I would like to do
Are you thinking of something like this (only round like a coiled rope?)
I think I'd probably applique the rope. Otherwise, I'm guessing it would need to be paper pieced.
