Quilt With Us

I am amazed at how well scrap city blocks not only sew together but also how they look. They really do float. My group is going to use a red background fabric when we finish our 2 rows each. I just have to sew mine together.

I wonder what the history is of this idea? My photo was taken at one end on a chair so the sizes  seem to reduce - weird.

Very fascinating!  I'm always getting distracted by all the neat things I find on this site!  It's getting harder and harder to focus on one project at a time!  Now I want to stop and try this, too!  Focus, just focus.  That will have to be my new mantra.

The template is half a hexagon and it uses a dark, a medium and a light fabric. It is an optical illusion that gives the feel of 3D.
