Quilt With Us

Hi to everyone,

Just wanted to post an update. I was working on the BF's daughters quilt and finally got it finished and sent off to his daughter. She loves the quilt. At least she said she did. I got the text message anyway. Ok kids today just aren't into talking on the phone. So my stupid question is what does "mmk" mean in a test message???? I realize I am behind the times on all this but I am just curious.

Is it just me or is it just rudeness? My 10 year old nephew opened a birthday card w/ $50 in it and said to his mom, my sister "I thought you said it would be $100?" omg!! Not even a thank you or anything, spoiled brat, glad I only gave him $10!!! LOL!

Glad that you at least got a text. DH and I gave a card with a $100.00 bill enclosed to a gson and his bride for their wedding (I knew they wouldn't appreciate a quilt) - never got a thank you of any kind - email, note, text or phone call.

texting really stinks I think. Bad enough that the "kids" of now can't take time to write a thank you note, especially for something as wonderful as a quilt! Just sad I guess..............
mmm ok, doesn't really sound like much of a thank you for all the work and love that was put into it, but maybe for her it did!

Kathy, don't feel bad, the FBI and nearly all of the local pd's have a specialist whose job is to keep up on the current "texting language". They have these people to help combat the online predators. It is sick but true and unfortunately unless you are a teen, tween or young adult... you are without the secret decoder ring!

Kathy I am right there with you. I wouldn't have a clue either. Yes, you would think she could pick up the phone and say thank you, eh?

Hi Kathy, I checked with 'the experts' and it means "mmm ok". It's not a stupid question, texting is a foreign language almost....especially to those of us older than 40!
