Quilt With Us

Coshocton Canal Quilters displayed over 100 family antique quilts Aug. 2015.

I wanted to share a photo of our antique quilts at our recent quilt show in August 2015.   When you walked into the church you were struck with a sense of awe!  These were most family quilts.   I was thinking about all the wonderful ladies who made these quilts and the ones that cherish the quilts today.   Coshocton Canal Quilters display over 100 family antique quilts at their 28th annual quilt show in the beautiful Presbyterian Church in Coshocton, Ohio.

Just beautiful.  Reminds me of the small quilt show that a group in Fayette MO puts on each year in a Methodist church.

Mary - how great it would be to see this in person.  Bless those families who willingly share their heirlooms with the public.  This would be exactly my kind of quilt show.

Thank you all for your lovely comments.  It was a wonderful experience to show these quilts. Many stayed in the church for over an hour.  I don't come from a quilting family but I know these family quilts are a real treasure.  I love to hear ladies in their late 70's talk about their memories of their mother or grandmother quilting!

What an amazing show in the perfect setting! As you so aptly pointed out, these are the quilts people don't get to see. Personally, these are exactly the quilts I love to see. It just doesn't get better than this. Thank you for sharing!

I have attended quilt shows in local churches and it is just so beautiful with the stain glassed windows that are pieced. Just gives the warmth of love from the church and quilts. Just beautiful...all those stitches!!!!

There can be no better way to display antique quilts then in a church.  These are quilts that people don't get to see.   These quilts had to be at least 50 years old.  I know I saw a few dated before 1900.  The quilts might be worn, faded and tattered here and there but together they are all awesome!

Beautiful!  So special that they are mostly family heirlooms.
