Square hot pads ALWAYS have the little loop in the corner for hanging them. I never put the loop on mine when I make them and never hang them. I have asked all of my coworkers and very few people hang decorative ones but not the ones they use. Do you hang your pot holders? When you make pot holders do you add the loop? Just curious.

I crochet my own potholders and never put on a loop, even when I make them as a gift. They go into the drawer closest to the oven. I do like the loop-on-thumb idea. Very clever AidaCJ!
I have done both when making hot pads, put loops on and left them off. Most of mine are in a drawer.
Even if they have loops, I don't use them. Shove them in a drawer.
in the drawer....piled up with several others,,
No loops, but I found a good use for loops on the hot pads. Because I cannot grasp as good with my fingers, I put the loop around my thumb, that way the pad doesn't run away from my hand.
No loops here either, I store mine in a drawer also.
My pot holders get used and sure would not make a great lookin' wall decoration...haha! Those are the store bought ones....If I ever make any I think I would choose not to bother with a loop as well. I don't like potholders as decor on a wall. Same for gift givin'.
No, no loops.
No loops...I use them for mug rugs and I use insulbrite...
I don't have drawer space to put my pot holders, so yes, I do use the loop.. Never made any, and don't hang any for decoration.
