Quilt With Us

You all probably know about these already but I've just discovered them...Curtain Clips! I hung a curtain rod in my bedroom...see below...and i just clip the quilt up! I havent thought about these before because in my day...they use to be made with prongs...and you squeezed the hoop together and those "teeth" would bite into your fabric! Now they're made differently and are much easier on the fabric. Now I'll be able to switch up new quilts any time I desire! They also have large ones that fit my wooden rod...also pictured below.

Terrific idea and beautiful quilts. re: "ripples". I don't see any and who cares anyway? The quilts are just plain gorgeous. When you are finished with the green and red one you can send it to me, ok? :o)

Roz, thanks for sharing this imformation with us.  I didn't like the old style hooks even for my curtains. Your quilts are both beautiful, but I must admit I'm partial to the red and green one.

Hi Debbie! Yes that red and green pattern was in a magazine about 3 years ago. I'll dig for it later and if I can find it ill post it here. I'm not sure about the weight those clips can hold, they come in different sizes. I checked the packaging and there was no information like that. I guess we can assume the bigger ones can hold more weight?

Hi Roz, I love your quilts and the way you have them displayed. Is the red and green one a pattern from somewhere? How much weight can those clips hold?

Great idea. I am looking to hang a quilt and will have to check out these clips. They may be less expensive than what I have been looking at.

LOL I certainly don't need to worry about hanging my quilts in a show! And I've added sleeves to quilts before and they never lay flat against the wall. The "ripples" may come from me not spreading the hooks apart enough. Either way, Carol Anne, I'm good with the convenience of the clips and happy I can choose to hang a quilt or throw it on my bed. If you're showing your quilts then I guess a sleeve is always necessary.

I too use the clips.  Very pretty quilts.  You can get good deals on clips from Ikea.

Is it my imagination, or does the use of the curtain clips cause the quilt to "ripple" when it is hanging?  It looks convenient, but I think I prefer my hanging quilts to lie as flat as possible against the wall.  Anyway, most quilt shows require sleeves for hanging on free-standing display racks.  Just saying.
