Quilt With Us

Day 4 of Vacation, What happened to day 3????

Ok who ever stole yesterday from me needs to give it back!!  Oh wait that would be mom!  Spent much of yesterday running mom around.  The up side was diner out. My daughter even managed to show up for a few minutes to say hi and showed off her gently used "new" car. After all that I sat and pondered my quilting project.  I tried the clear wash out webbing  the other night and didn't like it.  I kept tearing the stuff before I got to the quilting part of my project.  Went back to Joann's this morning in search of something.....

I do think I've found what I needed.  It's the Pellon webbing that washes out after stitching.  Just tried it and seems to stay in place with a few pins and I managed to get a block quilted! Sorry folks no peeking until the quilting is done on this one. The down side of this is having to draw out each block of quilting.  This might take longer than the 3 days of vacation that I have left although I really am going to try and get the quilting done this week.  So having gotten that off my chest for today, I'm going for my cup of coffee and drawing out more blocks to work on.

Hi Debbie, my quilt design is too large to go through my printer!  Renae Haddadin had a tip on her website using a clear plastic on her longarm.  I tried it and that didn't work for me.  I am using a water washout material made by Pellon.  Looks like fusible webbing but very thin.

Kathy:  I'm lost.  I've never heard of wash out webbing. I need to get out more I guess.   Is it for longarmmers?  (I'll have to google it.)  As to drawing each design.  Is it a product that could be cut paper size and run thru the printer?  Your quilting design could be scanned and printed quickly.  I know when I'm going fusible webbing the part I hate the most is tracing the patterns on the webbing so I scan the design in and print it off on my sheet of fusible.   Can't wait to see it finished.

Glad you have found a solution. Put on some good music or a movie to listen to, keep the chocolates handy, and have FUN
