Quilt With Us

Yeah!!! I finally finished my Christmas quilt...you know...the one I kept putting aside to do other things!!! I posted almost two months ago about not touching my new Batiks until this was finished, and I didn't!! Hard to believe but I feel I've made a serious breakthrough here. OK I still need to sew the binding down but that won't take any time at all . I named my quilt The Gift because it kept giving me presents. The flying geese gave me the half squares for the pinwheel log cabins and the shadowed mountains gave me the twisted ribbon on the back of quilt. The backing fabric is CT's Winter Fun in Toffee. All in all I'm really happy with it.   Now I will put it away and next Christmas when I see it again it will be a gift all over again!!!

Thanks for all the nice comments ladies. You are all always so positive and encouraging with your feedback!!!! Shannon I always said that I wouldn't put the effort and time into a quilt that would be away most of the year and yet....I'm always picking up Christmas fabrics..go figure. They are so pretty and I can trick myself into believing the quilt is free, right ? If I already had the fabric whats a girl to do??? Of course there's enough left over to make a couple more quilts LOL

Beautiful!  It really sparkles.  It is all the more special because you used those "leftover" pieces to create great blocks elsewhere.

Linda it's gorgeous! Love the naming of the quilt, too. We are all gifted in some way and you are obviously a gifted quilter.

So very pretty.Great job on those flying geese (gag). I have given up on a Christmas quilt as it would take too much time away from gifts to be made. However as a compromise TODAY I bought a Christmas panel that I love and will add borders etc for a quick Christmas one!!
