Yesterday I began learning a new art.... RUG HOOKING! I have been wanting to start rug hooking for about 2 years, but I didn't think I needed One More Thing. Well, we had "Woolies" at the shop where I work ( it's a hand sewing get together once a month & people hand quilt, English paper piece, rug hook, knit, wool applique, embroider, or whatever) It's free - just show up. There are basically two sessions, afternoon and evening, but you can come at one o'clock and stay until about eight o'clock if you have that kind of time. I got some very small projects drawn onto linen rug backing last week and a couple of different hooks and just a large plastic two level hoop set. The store owner had her wool cutter there and let all of us newbies use it to cut the noodles of wool. I love it! I'm going to make the patterns into pillows. I'll post a picture later.
Any rug hookers here???? I'd like to join your group if there is one! Laurie
