Quilt With Us

Ladies, I got a new sewing machine! It is a Brother Dream Creator. It sews, quilts and embroiders. It has so many decorative stitches that it will take me a year to try them all. I am just so excited about it! It is just what I wanted and thought I would never be able to afford. A special "thank you" goes out to Somewhere Sewing and another goes out to Carol for recommending them to me. I got a wonderful deal. Got the 2 receiving blankets done and also the ruffled purse for my daughter Kaleigh. I was going to take pics to post but forgot and now they are with their new owners. Oh well. Will do better next time. Now I get to start on my oldest daughter Celeste's birthday quilt. I have about 5 weeks so wish me luck. It uses the quilt as you go technique. Has anyone made a quilt with that before and how did it go? Was it all you had hoped for? Let me know what you think. Hope you all had a great 4th of July!

I am so excited for you! Nothing like a new machine. Do not be afraid of trying it all. (I say this because my mom has a hard time, but she does not have the internet.)  Lots of You Tubes on the quilting part. It is so much fun, but you can not walk away from it. Sewing with Nancy just had some. check on line.

Great new machine.  Yes, I have done quilt-as-you-go method.  To me, it works best on small projects i.e. tablerunner, place mats, etc.  I did it on a king size and will not do that again.  It was fine till I got to the borders and it was just too much to handle even on my Viking which has a longer throat.  Good luck.

YEAH!! A Brother!  I know you will LOVE it!  I have a little one I got which was my very first machine and loved it.  It was just too small when I started to do bigger quilts.  I do occasionally pull it out just because I love it so much!  I have been tucking money back to get a new machine and Brother is TOP of my list.  I hope you love it and can't wait to see what you create!  Enjoy! *happy dancing with and for you!*
