Quilt With Us

Remember when CT celebrated their FIRST YEAR ANNIVERSARY in 2009? They had a Quiltee Contest and here are the winners. Riley- most inspirational, BJ- most supportive, Linda Sue -best matchmaker, Yvonne- most jolliest and Debbie - best story teller about her trips.  All very deserving of their titles.

I have enjoyed hearing from you folks, who like myself have been less active in keeping up with posts.  Since that time I have met in person.  Barb D of Maine, Margo also of Maine and Marlene Duffy of Fredericton New Brunswick, Canada.

A note to the Newcomer's,  don't be shy we would love to get to know you, your family, and even your pets.  It's not just about quilting. It's a fun community of ordinary people sharing our passion of quilting and supporting one another through all of life's experiences.  ~ Irene

I love reading your blog posts. You're a very talented writer. Keep them coming!

Debra, it's always nice to hear that newcomers feel welcome right away.  I joined another forum a few years ago and felt very "out of place"  No one welcomed me and when I tried to join them in chat I was ignored.  As a result I didn't stay long.  I have never felt that way on this site.  I'm like Sheila, not much going on in my life that is interesting enough to share.  However I come on once in awhile babbling just to let everyone know I'm alive and kicking. lol

I haven't been on long, felt welcomed right away. I feel like this site and you all are a safe place to be. Thank you so much!

Pam don't feel your posting too much.  We love your humor and those great quilts you find everywhere.  When is the next episode airing? lol   And Linda it's so good to see you posting again. I have missed you.

I received a golden ripper the second year for what else... humor...go figure. I still smile when I look at it! I enjoy this site so much, but feel like I post too much, but don't want to lose the site from lack of chatter. I have made some great friends and have learned so much about quilting. It's good to remind each other once in awhile to participate. Always love to read every post!

I still have my golden seam ripper, I have never been able to tear it off its plaque because it really is golden to me.  What an honor to bring people together.  I have had the pleasure of meeting a handful of you since 2009, and love each one.  So many others of you I have a special place in my heart for you and feel as if I have always known you.  I will always miss Karen.  She had a way of pulling all of us together and that hasn't been replaced yet on QWU.  Maybe someday but not yet.  I know she loves her new job but she just knew how to deal with people and situations that arose on the site with great wisdom.

I have truly enjoyed the time I have spent on QWU, meeting all you wonderful ladies. I don't post much but I really try to keep up with what the rest of you post.  My life is somewhat like Irene's. Today is laundry, cleaning up the kitchen, bookkeeping. Not much to post about there. I love Pam's posts about her adventures and great finds at antique shows and fairs. I haven't worked on my quilts since Christmas - shame on me!

Lynne, I think we all miss Riley.  She was a true Sweetheart.

I agree Barbara, I got a Connecting Threads catalog in the mail when they first started. It had their website on it someplace,  so I checked it out and joined QWU right away.  I would like to see it get back to where more people are participating in sharing on chat. posting blogs and pictures. I have been slack in the past year or two in posting and chatting.  I live a rather dull life. hee hee
