The Double Wedding Ring quilt that you are probably tired of hearing about is FINALLY finished!
Here are the stats:
Made for DD and her husband for their June 23rd, 2012 wedding. (I know, I know. I missed the deadline, but hey, I have it finished before their first anniversary.)
Shar Jorgenson templates.
Reproduction 30's fabrics; prints for the arcs, solids for the cornerstones and binding.
Off-white (natural) muslin centers.
It is roughly 100 x 100" (9 rings x 9 rings)
Started cutting: Sept. 15th, 2011
Finished piecing: February 4th, 2012.
Marked & basted: July 2012
Hobbs wool batting (wool: my favorite batt through which to hand quilt, hands down)
Started hand quilting: August 1st, 2012
Finished: February 25th, 2013
Binding: Attached 2/26/13 and Finished on 3/4/13.
Nearly 3 spools of hand quilting thread used.
Quilted in my 14" square Grace lap hoop.
I apologist for the yellow cast to the above picture. Here's a close-up with more true coloring. Aren't those repro 30's prints wonderful?
Here is the back side and the binding. (I did miter the inside curves.)
Despite all the whining you had to endure along the way, I absolutely love it! Most of all I'm pleased at how thrilled my daughter is with it. She says it has been worth the wait and is anxious to get it on their bed.
