Quilt With Us

Easter has come & gone..........

Piper got her Easter dress, but not her coat & bonnet.  I was pretty busy bc my mom was ill again (smocking in the ER), but she's home now and doing better, thank God.  Also no coat & bonnet bc I could not find a suitable (washable/dryable) fabric in a decent color - or any color, for that matter!  I finally gave up.  I LOVE  the availability of quilting fabrics now, but if you sew garments sometimes it's slim pickins.  I'm reclaiming and restoring my beloved sewing room, it's been a mess and dumping site.  I can actually see my sewing table top, and some of my cutting table too.  Progress!

I really want to start a table runner for myself, but instead am making a tote bag that I desperately need right now.  It's a design-as-I-go deal, sure hope I like it!  ;0)   Also have some chair cushions to recover for someone in a plain cream fabric, as the kids say, BORING!!!  And then, who knows?

Hope everyone is safe & well.  The weather has taken a terrible toll this year.  I feel thankful (and a little guilty) for all that I have.  I pray for those in need.

Piper accessorized her Easter outfit herself with the double strand of pearls, a Binky, and Grampa's hat!  And wait - could that be chocolate on her face?

Piper's dress is adorable - and so is she.  Bet this one will be passed down to many little girls to come!

The dress and the baby doll are both adorable!  And of course it's chocolate Grandma! Don't you know that it's a girls best friend! ;o)

Piper is surely growing up fast! The dress looks so adorable on her.  I hope your Mom is feeling much better.  And isn't it great how Grampa's become putty in the hands of their granddaughters?

Take care - Aida

Piper is beautiful, as is her dress. I love the look of smocking. It gives such a rich look to a garment. I have to agree that fabric stores are few and far between these day's. I love batiste for children's dresses but it's hard to find (unless you go on line) and usually quite expensive.

Your little granddaughter looks so sweet in the beautiful dress you made for her.  Good news about your mom's situation.  I've been buying garment fabric online from fashionfabricsclub.com with very good results.  Also, I think a binkie and pearls are just lovely together.

The dress is adorable!  The smocking -- WOW!  I have not ventured that direction, but I do love it. Hope Mom is doing lots better... she's more important than a coat and hat.  I love how Piper accessorized!

She's such a cutie and looks like Grandpa is wrapped around her little finger. Isn't is something, how grandshildren can do this with just little look and smile. Piper's dress is so pretty and adorable on her. She also has beautiful curly hair. What a treasure she is.

Sweet, sweet girl.  Cute dress.  The smocking makes it so special.

What a little princess...she's adorable!!!! Pic brings to mind a saying " The simplest toy, one which even the youngest child can operate, is called a Grandparent !!!
