Quilt With Us

Update on the robin family:  Previous posted photos were the beautiful blue eggs and then the new hatchlings which looked like skin with fuzz; that was only 2-3 weeks ago.

Above:  Mom protecting her brood; she never blinked an eye at me as I stood 2 feet from her.

Above:  Full house; no room at the inn.  4 babies who now have feathers and eyes open.

Above:  Still a full house and growing; hope they don't fall out.

Above:  Flying the coop/nest.  Yesterday morning there were 3 left in the nest; I saw number 2 leave and fly to a tree.  DH and DGS saw number 3 fly out landing on the grass and Dad pushing him to the woods.  Last check last evening just one left.  I hoped he hadn't been abandoned.

Above:  Empty nest.  Hurrah!!!  All are safely gone and Mom will have "empty nest" syndrome and so will I.

What will I watch next?

Thanks for sharing your robin family. How neat to watch them progress from birth to flight. I love watching the birds. I find them to be fascinating creatures.

Thanks for the "birdie" journey. I have enjoyed the pictures of their progress.
