Quilt With Us

As you know if you've read my blogs, I am an animal lover.  This weekend marks the end of an era in my life.  I used to raise pure bred chocolate labs - loved the puppies, but got to the point that I couldn't bare to sell them for fear they would be mistreated.  I kept a pup out of the last litter and named him Doc Edward's Hot Chocolate, Doc for short.  He was a big (150#) loveable guy that loved to fetch and was deathly afraid of thunder.  His mom had to be put down just about a month ago and I had the horrible decision of having to put him down, too, on Saturday.  This is the first time in 20 years that I don't have a lab under foot or begging to go outside to play fetch.  Life will be different now...

R I P, Doc.  Run and fetch and enjoy!

I'm so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful dog and companion. I hope you make a special quilt for yourself as a reminder of your dogs.

Deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved Doc. I have been in your shoes when I had to make that decision for my beloved Brownie.  I still miss him after 3 years.

Sorry for your loss of handsome Doc; so hard to say goodbye to our faithful friends.  Years ago our beloved Cajun, a Samoyed, passed away at 11 years old.  Our vet sent a card with this loving tho't inside:

Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you.  I loved you so---'twas Heaven here with you.  Isla Paschal Richardson

What a lucky dog was to have lived knowing he was so loved.  He sure was a beautiful lab.  I am so sorry for your loss.

I am sorry for your loss. I had to have my beloved Ginny put down two weeks ago. My heart goes out to you in your loss.

Ladies, thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and sympathies.   Doc was one of a kind that is for sure.  I even helped deliver him because he was such a big boy.  Thanks so much for thinking of me and for your friendship and understanding.

My sympathies for you in your loss. I had to make the same decision with my beloved Mr Penny. Sometimes I still cry. He was so special.
