It's funny how another birthday puts things in perspective and you look back on just how good life has been. Yes, there have been dramatic ups and downs and some things I wish could turn out different, but all and all, life has been good.
Today I went to a painting class and was surprised by an unexpected birthday party from the instructor and shared by people that enjoy creating art as much or more than I do. It was a wonderful day. We spent 4 hours creating a painting that looks so complicated and hard, but was surprisingly easy when you did it in parts. You start with the part that looks furthest away and then work forward. Kind of reminds me of life, the things furthest away are the past and what is in the middle is the present and then you have what is in the future towards the front. Like the waterfall, things constantly change and you never know exactly what the final outcome will be. This is what makes life exciting, the unknown quantity and going for it with all the gusto you can manage. When my time comes to leave this earth, I will be ready and will say, "Man, what a ride!"
This one will definitely end up as a thread painting in the near future.

Just beautiful, Terri!
We are never too old to learn new things and you are proving it with your paintings. I agree with you about the ups and downs of life but looking back I can always see the things that hurt the most made me stronger. Keep up the good work, your doing a fantastic job with your painting.
Happy Birthday! Nice painting...can't wait to see the thread painting! There are some beautiful thread out there that will help do your painting justice. Should be a fun process :).
