I am used to using YLI and some OMNI threads. I am wondering if many of you have used the Essential Pro Polyester thread for longarming, and if so, how you like it. I am considering purchasing several colors. Thanks!

works wonderfully! i use essential pro almost exclusively now. it's soft and has great stitch definition. plus, you can't beat the price!
I don't have a longarm, but use the thread for some of my art quilts and have been pleased with it.
The guy that services my Janome machines recommended that I use polyester thread for quilting. He explained that with the improvement on fabric, it is no longer necessary to match cotton thread to cotton fabric. Come to think of it, the thread used for machine embroidery is mostly rayon or nylon and they look okay, specially with all that dense sewing.
I'm don't have a longarm and can't comment on the thread but after looking it up, I am wondering how it would work with my serger. The price is definitely right. Thanks for sharing.
I've used it on 4 quilts on my mid-arm. I've had no trouble with it at all. It certainly doesn't lint up like the cotton.
I use the CT threads to make all my quilts with and I've used the Essential Pro to do the quilting on quilts in the past. On my longarm it worked wonderfully for quilting, very very few times did it break and after adjusting the tension on the machine I didn't have any problems. I did have some lint in the bobbin holder but I'm guessing thats unavoidable. I used another thread for a quilt when they didn't have the color I wanted and realized that CT thread had a lot less lint in the bobbin holder. My longarm is in storage now and I have a mid arm machine that I plan on using the same treads with it.
