I've been looking at one of the quilt tops that I made and there was something that I just didn't like about it. It was the border. Soooo last night I took the border off without even thinking about what I was going to do about it. This morning, and I mean early this morning I was playing around on eq7 and came up with a design I like better.
One of the problems that I discovered about the program is doing quilts on point and then trying to come up with a border to fit it. out of the five tops I've made not one of the border designs that I did came out fitting the right way. I emailed the company about this and sent them pictures of the tops. They suggested using a differnet border design. If you are doing a quilt on point in a 3 across and 4 blocks high with a set size block and a set size border around that, the next border size that you put around the quilt using a block design and corner blocks, should be the same for the top bottom and side to side but they aren't. The 3 blocks that fit across the top bottom would be the same but the 4 side to side blocks aren't the same size as the ones on the ends. I'm not sure that makes sense to anyone but I did measure the quilts to be sure it was square or rather rectangle. If anyone has any ideas about what is going on and could explain it to me, your input would be appreciated.

EGADS! You took a border off? You must have really hated it.....it would take an act from God to make me do that. lol My brain is too fried to work on your problem but I can wish you the best of luck.
Nothing to do with EQ, but borders--I have a friend who finished a wall quilt in a hurry and hung it on her wall. Every time she went past, she looked at it and thought "there's something wrong". Finally, it dawned on her, the quilt had only three borders :). Dealing with math is much harder to fix.
Pam: Nope you haven't missed a thing. Still waiting on DD to deliver. They are going to induce labor on the 28th if the little guy hasn't made his appearence by then.
BJ: my solution was remove old border and make a new one that doesn't go block to block down the quilt. Picture to follow once I get it finished.
Did I miss you becoming a grandma?
Hmmmm.... good luck with this. It will be fun to discover the reason and best solution.
