I must admit, Fall is my favorite season; however, here in north central Ohio, it doesn't seem to last as long as it did when I was a kid growing up in Columbus. Now it seems as though the leaves all turn, fall, and blow away within the space of 2 weeks! My goodness - how times and memories change. I swear, sometimes the wind blows so hard here in the Fall, that I'm positive our leaves end up in Pennsylvania within a matter of minutes. Then, of course, as soon as they've all made it to Pittsburgh, the snow is flying and stays for 6 months. I think I must be getting old. ~sigh~
This is the time of year for bonfires, camping with good friends, hayrides, and apple picking. While I don't have any apples to pick, I can and do participate in the others. There's just nothing more enjoyable on a crisp fall evening than sitting around a campfire with friends, warm toddies, and listening to the horses munch on their hay while we tell stories - some on each other & some on ourselves. After all, if you can't laugh at yourself, you're not doing something right, in my humble opinion! Enjoy!
To celebrate Fall, I've just finished my Black Jacks table topper which will go on my table in the morning room along with a few of my Halloween ceramics that I love. It's modified from the design of the same name put out by Buttermilk Basin.
In addition, I'm working this week to finish up the October Candle Mat designed by Mari Martin and a table runner design from Gathering Friends.
