Goals for 2015 -
Do I dare make goals?? I have tons of WIP's to work on. Not to mention the quilts I haven't started that I want to start.
I do have one quilt loaded on my long arm. It's the blue and white squares and I try to put in about 15 minutes to 1/2 an hour, couple of times a week on it, but I am slow and easily distracted.
If I do make goals it would strictly be for quilts I want to get done, not small projects like table runners, or hot pads.
But how will I prioritize. Should I go oldest to newest? Least done to most done? (some I have worked faster on than others). Favorite to least favorite? (that one is tough because I love them all and they all have some kind of meaning for me) - so scratch that one.
I read somewhere that goals should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time limited.
So.... To be specific, maybe pick one project (quilt in progress), set a realistic, measurable goal (so many blocks per week or rows quilted per week) that I know that I can attain and give myself a time limit that is attainable as well. HHmmm.....
But.
But.
I want to make this> I forgot I wanted to make a quilt for my nieces wedding, my friend is going to have her first grandbaby, my niece is having a baby, my mother is going to be 75 this year (I have a quilt in progress for her, but could I get it done in time?)
Part of the reason I am not very successful in this quilting world of mine is that my attention span is short, I am easily swayed by tons of new ideas.
Discipline is something I need more of.
There is my goal - To be more disciplined in making time pursuing my quilting goals. Those goals being to finish at least 3 of my WIP's quilts this year. I may make other things along the way, but I will discipline myself to keep my eye on the goal of finishing those quilts as well. I will be nearly one third done when I finish this blue quilt I have on the long arm today. YAY!! I am on my way.
I can do this, and I want to do this and I will do this.
Thank for reading this blog. :)
Have a great day.

LOL! I recognize myself a little too much in your entry. Focus...that needs to be my mantra lately.
Nancy - sounds like you have a good plan worked out.
Pam: WHAAATT? No UFOs? What discipline! On your way to Cali to work on Carol Ann's projects, you can stop off in Nebraska and give me a swift kick in the kiester to motivate me to finish mine!
Oh, Pooh, Pam! What a Goodie-Two-Shoes! :-)
I'm going to get you to move out to California so I can have you work on all of those I have lined up on my shelves, in my drawers, under the bed, in my closet, etc.!
I very seldom start a new project until I finish the existing one. No UFOs...
Good thinking Carol - Thanks, I will do that too.
Good thinking, Nancy. Personally when I get serious with my WIP's, I go first with the one closest to being finished. Then, emboldened with success, I start on the one with the closest deadline. When I finish both of those, I can do anything I want!
