Thought I'd show you few more pictures of the Falls and Whitefish Point Lighthouse
A view from the banks
View from trail to upper Falls. Even from this distance you could feel the refreshing spray of the falls. There is a 6 1/2 hour tour you can take that starts at the Toonerville Trolley, a narrow guage train ride that takes you all through the forest and then you board a paddleboat for a 21 mile trip along the river to the upper Falls. That tour runs only once a day and is well worth it.
Whitefish Point Lighthouse is still in operation. This lighthouse was made famous in the song about the Edmund Fitzgerald which sank just 15 miles from the shores of Whitefish Bay.
Going up! This tall tube houses the mass of stairs that leads to the top of the lighthouse. The octagon shape is the base of the narrow walk that encircles the top of the tower.
