Quilt With Us

Tonight I finished some sewing projects that I have insisted (to myself) that I must finish before I can do any quilting! Now I can allow myself to actually quilt instead of looking at the pictures of all the beautiful ones all of you have made! I have a baby quilt to make before I have to get busy making flannel pajama bottoms for my three grandchildren for Christmas. They are 21, 19, and 7. All of them love pj bottoms to lounge in. When they were small I made all their jammies, and now they're back appreciating my sewing for them again!

Ginger, glad you got your sewing projects finished so you can get into doing that baby quilt and Grandkids pjs. Lucky Grandkids to have a Grammy that sews for them. Vicki, you don't have time to sew now, you have CJ to spoil. In 10 years when he doesn't have time for Grammy anymore, then it will be time to sew (LOL)

Sorry but I am still on the collecting side of things, just ask my DH. I might finish one to seven/ten things I collect. I have to make sure that I have everything I need just in case. But sadly I think I need a bigger room for storage now. My new craft room, under my bed (which I found with risers under the feet of the railings is 6 inches taller for storage/hiding stuff, but of course that's for the new bed skirt right?) is already full. And I have soooo many ideas, and print outs, and magazines with bent pages I will never ever get to them all. So now reading this I feel guilty I think maybe I will make a pot holder tonight to say I have gotten something done, wait wait Joanne's has a new ad out today don't they. LOL

I was needing some inspiration to get going on my own list of "need-to-do's" and reading your chat has spurred me on. Thanks!

I like your tradition of making the flannel pj bottoms. Mine is boxers for the fellows. I just have the hems to put in them and they are done. It feels good to get projects completed, doesn't it. Have fun in whatever sewing/quilting you do.

Good for you! I am trying to do the same thing, and it really does feel good, doesn't it? I know, everytime I come on the site and see all of those stunning quilts, I get that nagging feeling in the back of my head that I should work on some of this stuff for a change.
How fun for your grandchildren to get the pj bottoms from you! Do they get to pick out their own fabrics, or do you pick them out going according to their interests?

Congratulations on finishing your sewing projects, even if they were just promises to yourself. I know I sometimes make a promise to myself and I want to finish it before I renig and do something else. Good luck on your upcoming projects.
