Quilt With Us

Since my recent re-retirement I have been coming re-aquainted with my sewing room, mainly cleaning it out. I am half-way done and am discovering things I had forgotten that I had. I have decided to part with my huge collection of magazines (several hundred to confess). Surprisingly enough I had an offer today to take them off my hands. One thing that I did come across and had to sit down to peruse was a 1999 Connecting Threads catalogue.

I am hoping to get at and finish a few projects once things are organized again. It is slow going as I come across things that I haven't seen for a while, I have to stop and look at it. LOL. My DH is getting a little annoyed as my quilting room is full and now my scrapbooking is taking over the dining room.

Over the holidays we had quite a scare as my oldest son (who still lives at home) became quite ill and we came very, very close to losing him to a virulent blood infection that affected all his major organs. This past week we got some good news that his lungs are clear and hopefully he will be off his IV pump in another week.

So Life is good and time to relax for a while.

'till next time remember God loves ya and so do I.

It is amazing what we collect as we still thinking we will be back in the sewing room. I am doing the very same thing as I clean cuz the real estate lady says it is crowded..No kidding.!!! So I downsized to just what I need not what all that I want. alot of my scraps are going to someone who neds and wants them,,,I love that I see everyone else doing it,,but I really don't like scraps,,It all has to be organized and color co-ordinated,,I am so predictable!!! Edith you go ahead and clean you be amazed on what you will find,,,I hope it is all good..

Glad to know your son is on the mend.  here's hoping that your 're'retirement' gives you plenty of time to pursue your interests.

So glad to hear your son is doing so much better. That had to be scary for all of you.

Edith, congratulations on "re-retiring". As you "re-aquaint" yourself with your hidden treasuers, I'm sure you will come across many things you didn't know you had.  As for the magazines, when I have reached my limit I go through them saving the pages I don't want to disgard and put them in plastic sleeves in a binder.  And then I either give away or disgard the rest of the magazine.  I'm glad your son is getting better.  I will pray that he make a full recovery.  Happy Sewing and glad your back.
