Quilt With Us

I wrote a quilt story: http://roadhomequilting.blogspot.com/2013/02/aunt-vickis-quilt-stor...

Do you know of a quilt block for nurses? I couldn't find one to go with my story. All I could think of was red-cross. Close enough? What do you think?

I liked your story as a quilter and an RN.  Lots of patients bring in hand made quilts, knit or crocheted blankets, pillows, slippers etc.  I always ask who made it and for its story, puts people at ease to talk about something other than their illness.

I don't know of a block for nurses either but I was thinking maybe something with hearts.  Just an idea.

I've made some. Right now I have a couple tops waiting to be quilted. They'll get finished one of these days.

Ohh adn books are 40% off right now? Thanks, Cindy! I'm guessing you make lots of civil war quilts?

Some great books you might want to check out: 'Civil War Sewing Circle', 'Civil War Quilts', 'Anniversay Quilts of the Civil War', all available at Connecting Threads. Also one more that I can't recall right now.

That's good advice, Linda. But I'm just looking for a quilt to make to match my story. Maybe someday I can write a book. HA- Better worry about finishing the quilt first:)

Thank you for reading, Barbara, I'm glad you liked the story. I have lots of trouble posting on blogs too. Thanks for trying :)

Be careful about using the civil war block in your book. I was reading yesterday on that site their rules and use of the blocks, so make sure it is ok with them.

Very nice story--I tried to post on the blog but my computer disagreed. The quilt block from Shannon does look perfect.
