Quilt With Us

Can't say I completely finished the first 66 flying geese - pink and white, just need to finish pressing and then trim to size.  Started on the second set of 66 - blue and white.  Using the flying geese ruler has been a good choice for me.  The pattern called for 2 triangles for each geese and I don't like sewing triangles maybe because of the bias stretch.  Anyway, after cutting the second set, I sat at the table to draw lines and pin while watching Wheel of Fortune and now American Ninja Warrior.  Hope to get to the Bernina tomorrow to sew the second set.

That is labor intensive but, will be so worth it when it's done. Stay with it!

Janet, I'm working a quilt kit that I bought in 2001 and the pattern is in a McCall's Quilt magazine.  The directions only use triangles and rectangles.  I was pretty new to quilting then and didn't realize what I was getting into!  I love the quilt - the design and the color.  Each block needs 3 flying geese.  It also needs 1/4 square and 1/2 square triangles that make a 1 3/4" block!  What was I thinking!  As I laid awake last night I think I will make a paper pieced pattern to make those blocks.  I started back to work yesterday - so my time is limited.
