Quilt With Us

Hello from the land of HEAT!
Yup, last week I decided why not pack up some shorts, tees and my walking shoes and head out for a small vacation. Packing my bags, watering the yard real good, checking the security and my bank account I took off to Phoenix AZ.
Yes most would say ARE YOU CRAZY with the heat being at 115 per day. However, I love the area. If you have been here maybe you grasp the reasoning behind that feel and understand the spirit of the desert, and for others never been so lucky to visit I would say come try it.
The city of Phoenix has everything anyone would or could ask for. I actually love the off season to which this is, as I booked myself in to the Embassy Suites off of Camelback in the heart of Scottsdale and there cannot be more than 100 guest in a 2000 guest resort. The customer service here is amazing, and I become lost in the pampering and quietness of the enviroment.
I love to travel and I remain faithfull to what my grand mother believed ..the good ole United States of America has the most to see, do and experience in all the world. She would tell me as a small child there is really no need to cross over to other lands to experience their customs as this melting pot has it all.
During the week I will post a few little adventures and pictures for my Quilting friends and family who may be interest, and wish you were all here to experience the desert with me...Hugs Mary

P.S. This picture is me shooting at the Bass Pro Shop in Mesa AZ. For the outdoors man (excuse me "woman") this is a perfect hangout for the day. Oh yeah I did get some clothes too along with a lb of fudge....lol

Sounds like a wonderful time, Mary. I've been to Az and it was a nice visit, but you can keep that heat, I don't care if it is a dry heatlol.

I'm glad to hear that Phoenix is such a great place--a dear friend and her family are moving there, and I didn't know anything about it except that it would be hot (but dry, unlike here!). Have a great week.

That is a fun shop, Mary. If you decide to do the Apache Trail Loop - an adventure in itself, but you want a good car for rough road and keep abreast of the flash floods - be sure to stop at Tortilla Flats and get some Prickly Pear ice cream. Yum yum. Have a fun time. There are some great quilt shops in the area!
