Do you ladies know of something inexpensive that I can adhere to a quilt ruler to stop it from slipping when I cut? There has to be some easy solution to this problem.

I have used doublestick tape quite often It works well and very inexspensive
I use invisagrip but I was also told to try to keep a couple fingers off the ruler and on the mat. I try to do this but it isn't always possible. I also realized I don't always have to use me 6" wide ruler. Narrower ones don't slip as easily but watch where your fingers are. Since I have my sewing surface at the proper height, my rulers don't slip as much either.
I solved the whole issue by purchasing Creative Grid rulers that already have the "rough" dots that keep it from slipping. These are the best rulers! I bought them one by one to replace all those others that slid all over the place.
I use Invisigrip. Works well for me.
First of all what is your ruler? sandpaper dots are good,,but it might mess up the ruler,,is it all flat? or is it the one with the groves in it..?
Invisigrip has worked well for me, but as the product "ages" it tends not to stick really well to the corners of the rulers. It does use "static cling." The sandpaper dots are probably cheaper and do work.
Terry, a word of caution on the clear vinyl dots, when I used them they raised my ruler a bit off of the fabric (they were too thick) and I did not like them. I do like the sandpaper dots .
i cut all different sizes , as long as there is a part under the ruler, it stays put. i also discover if you use a small cutting mat and you put a piece under it - the mat will not move. i bought this stuff at the dollar store and it beats all the other stuff i used before
That was " I have seen" !
I seen the little vinyl dots advertised, but have not purchased any yet. Terri, I have the same problems sometimes too. I like the idea of trying the non-slip shelf liner. mich/TN, did you glue it to your ruler?
