Quilt With Us

Whew, got through another Christmas Season.  I'm hoping (but it never seems to happen) that I have my gifts for next Christmas made in advance.  December is a very busy month with Christmas parties in my sewing and bingo groups and Bud's party with his singing group.   And then there are all the special programs at church.

This month has been especially hard with the weather being very bad.  Many in this area are still without power from the ice storm.  More snow is falling that could cause more weight on the wires and branches causing more outages.  The sun did come out yesterday and it was a welcomed site.  My son had to bring the Christmas turkey here to be cooked as they have no power in their area of Canada yet.  I made the Christmas dinner and they came here.  Some people told me they cooked steaks, and baked potatoes on their out-door grills.  Where there's a will there's a way. The important thing is being together either with each other or as a family gathering.  Now I'm off to do a little sewing and wind down from all the hoopla of the last several months.  Happy New Year to All.

I hope the power has been restored in those parts of Maine that were affected.  It surely put a damper to the holiday celebration.

Wishing you and your family a great new year.

We had a very quiet-low key Christmas here.  I know what you mean about trying to get them done early and I have the same problem, it doesn't happen.  My best friend Gena and I have decided that we are going to make no less than three gifts a month and will be encouraging each other daily to keep motivated.

We had a brief snow that didn't last very long and didn't hang around but more than two days.  The temperature rose to almost 70* two days later and now it is back down in the 30's.  CrAzY!  lol

Has power been restored to those areas yet?  Praying all is well!

Hello, survivors! The sun is shining in western Colorado but the temp is below freezing. We had a good Christmas too.

Up north is still battling the ice and they are to get a foot of new snow tonight! Yikes...we had a great Christmas, boys liked everything and really made us feel good, they cried when it was time to go home! We were seeing them the next day! Overload... I am tidying up and grabbing a few things to put away. Will take all decorations down tomorrow except tree and mantle, they get until New Years! Want to hit the machine later...have a relaxing day...
