Quilt With Us

Yesterday I posted that my wallet was found. Yes, my drivers license and family photos were in it! My (canceled) debit cards and cash were missing, but that was it. I received the phone call from a place that I knew of as a liquor store, the employee told me it was found by somebody by their garbage cans near their dumpsters. Turns out it wasn't a liquor store, but a bar that shared the same name as the liquor store, AND it was found two blocks from where it was stolen. My DH and I scoured the area around there very thoroughly and checked dumpsters and garbage cans to no avail. Still no word on the purse and the rest of its contents, but I am not giving up hope!
This next part I had to share, because it was so neat that I thought you would appreciate it. As we were getting into our van again that was parked outside the bar, something on the grass caught my eye. It appeared as if it was a hundred dollar bill, but the color wasn't exactly right, so I figured it was play money, yet it looked so real. I checked it out and it was a million dollar bill (not real) marked Department of Eternal Affairs and on the back of it was some scripture, plus a stamp from an area church. The bill itself is put out by WayoftheMasterRadio.com and is pretty beat looking, but it just excited me and my DH so much, we felt like God was sending us a message that He really is watching over us! We went to a party for my DG's first birthday afterwards and had to share the story with everybody, their reaction was the same. I'm keeping it in my wallet, as a reminder of God's goodness, and that we are turning the corner from our hardships and onto our way to better things! I'll keep you posted when I learn more about my purse, again, thanks for the prayers and positive thoughts! Blessings, Trudy

Trudy, I'm so happy you were able to get your wallet back--sans $$ and cards but then to get a million dollar bill. That's wonderful!

Trudy, so happy to hear that you did get your wallet back. And your story of the million dollar bill just gave me goose bumps -- what a way to send a message -- there are angels all around us to help God with his caring for us. So thankful that the situation is turning around.

It is such a good thing to share stories like this, Trudy, because you never know where others are in the hard times of their lives--when you share about God's blessings in your life, it reminds others to look for those blessings and that they are coming. We're told to bear one another's burdens, and to exhort and encourage one another.

Thank you all so much for such wonderful comments! I knew when I found that (fake) million dollars and the story with it, that you all would appreciate it, that's why I had to tell it! It just made me feel so good, as there have been many times lately where, even though I know God is watching over us, things have been happening that have been truly frustrating. Last night I was watching a minister on television that reminded me that often those times are when we know we're close to our harvest or victory, but the enemy is throwing distractions out at us. I knew this, but I guess we've been getting a lot of 'distractions' lately that I was losing my focus a bit.
I forgot to add this piece of good news that came the same day. My son in law told my DH that he has mentioned my DH to his boss a couple of times recently in reference to specific computer programming work that my DH can do. Please pray that my DH has favor with my SIL's employer and gets the job. This not only would be very beneficial for us financially now, but it could open many doors for my DH as well. The other good news was that when I came home, I had a message for another quilt job AND I received a check in the mail for the balance of some quilt work I did and wasn't expecting to see for a while! I'm having so much fun sharing these things with all of you, you've been so great!

Oh, Trudy, I am so happy for you. It is just amazing how God intervenes for us many times and shows us that He is still there for us. Take care and thanks for keeping us informed as we continue to pray. He is AWESOME!!!

Trudy, isn't God amazingly good? I'm so thankful you found your wallet and pictures. But the whole thing of the million dollar bill--I agree with you and your husband that God was giving you a clear message of His love and provision! God bless you--and keep trusting!

Great story. It is so wonderful when we can see the Lord's hand at work in our lives - and even more importantly, give Him the glory for it as you are doing.
