Quilt With Us

Hi Everyone!!!!!!!  I have been so busy, and yes I actually have been just playing around, with quilting. Getting back to it once again.  Its been several months, that I have not really been doing much out in the sewing room.  Yet, I am back out there once again.  I am feeling pretty great.  ( new meds).  I have done many different type quilts, techniques.. of quilting.    Yet, there was just one that I never tried, always was going to... yet something else was already in the works.  Always!!!!!!

So.... I am messing around making a log cabin quilt.  I have always liked the way they looked.  After watching a video on Craftsy's.. its seems to me so simple and easy.   I love it though... as I just love the way they look. Therefore ,I have been going through my fabric's and thinking out, who this quilt  should be for.  Oh, well couldn't think anyone.  Not in my family would  anyone like a log cabin quilt, so I will make it for ME!   Yes, a great idea!

I have my fabric, all cut and ready to go.  It is going to be for my King size bed.  Since, I do at times have to spend time in my bed.  I decided, I will make several quilts this year for my bedroom.  Then, I can have a change in there.  Which would brighten my time in bed.

This new year, I plan on making plenty of new quilts, wall hangings for my home.  Its time, I freshen up my home with new quilts.  Pillows.. and afghans,  and since last year I painted the walls, and freshened up doors, and woodwork.( Which I had help)!!!!  Now its time for a new change in this home.  I am ready for a change in everything!

I want and wish, to have it easier on my lungs this year!  I have recently had the best gift ever.!!!!!  Obama care, has opened doors for me.!!!  I was a  pre-existing person.  Well, I finally am getting the right care,Now for my lungs. My insurance is now paying it.  This is important to me.. and the real gift is : a portable oxygen machine.  Seven  and half  years, I have waited.    My doctor wrote me a prescription for one, and my insurance is paying a good portion of it for me.   I can go anywhere now. I can fly up North, to see my daughter now.  I can go visit my parents, in West Palm beach, which is an hour and half away from me.  I will now be set free!   I cried, and my family did too!   It something I wanted so much.   My dream came true... Jan 1st.  2014!!!!!!!

Just think they won't be able to close quilt shops!!!!  LOL  As I won't want to leave.

Before I close, I am wishing everyone good health this year, that your dreams come true... and to feel what I do so very blessed.   Have a wonderful Day!!!!  Hugs Morgan oxoxoxoxoxo

Sounds like 2014 is off to a great start for you. Have fun making "your" quilt and enjoy that adorable little Chase!

Morgan, I'm so happy you are finally getting good health care & insurance.  I too am a big fan of the new health care law.  My premium dropped to $19 per month for a savings of $75.00.

Log cabin quilts are one of my all time favorites.  You can do so much with them.  Another design you would probably enjoy making is the split 9 patch as you can lay those blocks out the same way you can lay out log cabin blocks.

Chase is just plain adorable beyond words!  What a clever chair for him.  I have seen anything quite like it for someone his age.  It looks like it still gives good back support.

The log cabin is a fun quick quilt to put together...the blues will do up beautifully. I made several from that pattern in the 80's and still love it. Chase is a cutie...nice to live so close to be a big part of his life.

I'm so thrilled to read all the great news!  Good for you to make YOU a quilt (or more).  We often make for everyone around us and forget to do something for ourselves.  I know you will love it all in blues. So you.  I'm especially excited that you are getting better healthcare now. What a blessing my friend. And for it to allow you more freedom too. Such an answer to prayer. I am thankful that I now have health insurance too. HUGS ♥

Shannon, I have picked blue tones with very light white-blue.  Yes, my health is better as when I went to my new doctor,he changed all of my meds.  I hardly cough anymore.  I even am starting to feel stronger.!!!!!!  Obamacare to me is so wonderful, and I know others too, now can finally have proper care.

Have a great Day!! Hugs Morgan oxoxoxoxox

As a Canadian, I am so glad Obamacare is there to help so many. IMHO health care is a right, not a privilege. The fact that you will now get the care you need is GREAT. That is one happy little baby there!! Chase is adorable and may you have many years of enjoyment with him! And your idea of a quilt "redo" in your home is awesome. I too love log cabin quilts. One day maybe.....what colours have you chosen for it?
