Quilt With Us

I am sooooo looking forward to this New Year. It will be the first one in 12 years that we don't have a big, huge, wild party planned. From high school years to college years our son's have always had parties here. Between paper streamers stabled to the ceiling every 10 inches to confetti to food to 40 bodies sleeping over I never looked forward to the aftermath each year. Last year I think I was still cleaning up confetti in June. I also found a few staples in the ceiling when putting up our Christmas tree this year. Isn't it amazing what we do for our kids? I plan to watch the great waterford ball fall on east coast time (9pm my time) and then head off to bed. I may add a shot of Baileys to my coffee as my midnight toast to the new year, kiss my hubby and pat the puppy but I think my wild party days have come to a close. Does this mean I'm getting old? Yes It Does! I just passed the party torch to my eldest son in Missouri and hope he keeps up the tradition. All kidding aside....I am really thankful to so much this past year. One is this Blog....Karen and staff, you out did yourselves this time. I've also been blessed with my pattern business, my parents who are living on the edge of sanity(married 65 yrs this Feb) and my local and cyber friends. Life this past year has been a lot of hard work but it's also been very rewarding. Thank you all for your support, nice comments and wonderful belly laughs. Here's to all the same great stuff next year. HAPPY NEW YEAR

Debbie, you and BJ are so funny. I wish we could all get together in the same room. We would have a hoot even if it wasn't a New Years Party. I am so glad that I have met you two and all the rest on this forum. I just love it. I think QWU is the greatest. Hugs to all of you and Hope you all have a very Happy New Year. Looking forward to spending lots of time with you again in 2010.

Okay...I'm just trying to get this straight in my mind.... did you put your tree on the ceiling and that's when you found the staples? I have heard of people who hang them upside down from their ceilings! LOL
With the adventures we've had this year, it will be interesting to see what new ones are in store for 2010! I am looking forward to more opportunities to get to ML and see you or have you come my way. I've been so excited to see how your pattern business is taking off! What fun (and work, but a good kind). I'll join you in the 9pm welcoming of the New Year (without the Bailey's)!

Debbie, I will be quilting until 11:55. Then I will wake up DH(who will be napping on the couch), we will watch the ball drop, I will kiss him Happy New Year and then we will be snuggled sound asleep in our bed! We are such party animals! HaHaHaHaHa!

Deb, I will be partying in my mind while physically sleeping in my bed when the clock strikes midnight this new year. Here's to an even better year in 2010 for all of us! Rebecca

I hear you about those parties, but at the time they were a hoot! Lucky you to be able to watch the ball drop three hours early...it will be cold and snowy in NYC. I do hope our teams do better next year...we want to fire the coach but they would just hire yours! lol Enjoy the evening!
