Quilt With Us

I hope you have had a Spirit Led holiday season.

I am sorry for the delay in posting.  It got busy around here.

When I last posted, I was heading to make some organza tree ornaments.  I did not get as many done as I wanted, but here is a taste.

Then we had blood work done on my husband and also teeth pulled.  Lab work came back in a not so good result.  So, my husband has decided to go the next step in testing.  That will take place on Wednesday this week.  Prayers requested.

We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year (and my birthday).  Our oldest son's birthday was on Wednesday 1 - 3), but we had a surprise party for him on New Years eve.   He was totally surprised.  This past Saturday (1 - 6) was my husbands birthday.  All the kiddos showed up.

So you can see it was a busy time for us.

We have an update on our future granddaughter, Avery Rose:

Ryan's text:
Busy day today with back-to-back appointments from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. here in Dallas. Follow-ups with the perinatologist and cardiologist, and met for 1st time with surgeon and also did hospital tour. Learned a lot, and feel very reassured that this is where God wants us to be. Avery’s ultrasound looked great and her echocardiogram revealed a still-typical case of TOF; surgeon says it’s likely we won’t need surgery immediately following Avery’s arrival. Should be able to take her home within 4-10 days of birth. So excited! It’s been a really great experience working with everyone at Medical City Dallas so far.
When it was first discovered that Avery has TOF, they were thinking that right after delivery that she would be sent directly into surgery.  I pray non stop for complete healing before birth.  Erica is still stressed over all of this.  She is a true believer in Christ, as is Ryan.
This is a picture of Avery's face, kind of blurry, but if you look carefully, her nose is in the middle, eye/s above and to the left.  Her mouth is just above where it says; 'HI MOM AND DAD'

Other than the TOF, the doctors say she is developing normally.  God is so good.  Please continue to pray for Avery and her mom and dad.

I have started on Avery's large quilt.  Her dad has seen bits and pieces of it, just because it was out on my dining room table when he came over for his dad's birthday on Saturday.  I am doing the Beach Ball Quilt by My Sister and Me.  The video can be seen at: Missouri Star Quilt Company.  I am waiting on more fabric.  Some of the fabric I ordered for this was used on another quilt for Avery.  But I have a lot done.

Well, I need to get on with my day.  May you have a Spirit Led week.  I hope to get back with you next week.  Maybe with some results of my husbands testing.

Please keep Avery and my husband in your prayers.

Hang in there! The things medical science can do these days is amazing. I will add them to my prayers.

The organza ornaments are lovely.  Hope everything goes well with little Avery, and your husband gets the answers he needs.  What a stressful time!

Prayers for your family...the ultrasounds now are amazing and really let you know what to expect! Sounds like you've been very busy...helps keep your mind focused.

Carol - you have a lot on your plate right now.  Seems like those valleys come around from time to time.  Just grateful you aren't walking through them alone.  "The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms."  Deut. 33.27

Carol your tree ornaments are beautiful. I can understand why you was too busy to get any more of them done. Belated Happy Birthday. Mine was yesterday the 7th. I will be praying for your husband and Avery. Looking forward to seeing the quilt for Avery.  I'm putting the last border on Gavin's quilt and then it's going out to the LAQ. I wanted to work on it today but for some reason, I have had a painful neck and shoulder. I think it must have been a position I slept in last night. I was fine when I went to bed.
