Quilt With Us

I've tried to post in the new year with pictures of completed projects but the internet connection is so slow that I could complete another large quilt in the process. So you'll have to take my word for it that I did what I did and completed said projects w/o visual proof!

Yes, the holiday season was a busy one with other activities that address my musical interests. I participated in a local community chorus of 80 + voices with orchestra and handbells. It was an awesome concert directed by a very young man of 28 who just received his doctorate. This organization started with 26 people and has grown in ten years to the size that it is under his influencd and talent. I've signed up for the spring program which promises to be also exciting.

Now to the projects: 12 placemats, 3 table runners, 1 square table topper that was paper pieced and some embroidery embellishments, a plethora of embroidered ornaments, and two wall hangings. As a guild challenge ( in addition to what I just posted) I have commited to completing by June 2015 6 more quilts - mostly wall hangings (large). I've completed three so far. I'm hoping to use the new Dream Machine ( which I'm commited to paying for for the next 4 years) for embroidering quilting designs on these quilts. I was successful last night trying to figure it out and managed to make four designs on test fabric. This machine can scan in the designs and digitizes them for sewing and I've just touched the surface of the possibilities on this machine. I'm hoping to add these designs to a large wall hanging sometime this week.

Again I would post pictures, but I lose the internet connection in mid-stream and then I lose my post entirely. So I'll quit here and when time permits and the connection improves, I'll post pictures at a later date.

Regards to all,

Billie

Happy New Year ,Billie! You have been a very busy lady and will continue to be so with your 2015 commitments. I have four quilts that need to be done by April/May. One baby quilt and three for college graduates. One is completely finished, the baby quilt is pieced and layered, waiting to be quilted. The other two are ready for the cutting out step. I think I will make it. Have fun with your new machine!

Good to hear from you!  And congratulations on your accomplishments.  We always seem to move to an area with either no internet or dial-up only.  What a pain!  I'm so grateful that we finally got DSL, I used to wait nearly an hour just to log in to my bank account.

Billie, you & I need to encourage each other.  WE CAN DO IT!  I hope to have another one of the 16 tops I want to get quilted this year finished by Monday at the latest.
