I've been absent for awhile, sorry! But I've just wrapped a week+ vacation during the holiday, when work closes down between the holidays. It's such a nice time to be off. After all the usual family and friend holiday stuff, I started a brand new project! It's called Whisper and it's a thousand pyramid quilt, designed by my friend Mary Fons. I started cutting the day after Christmas:
Then I traveled to my friend Mary (another Mary) and Stan's house on the Olympic Penninsula in Washington. They have a lovely home on the Straits of Juan De Fuca and if you squint across the water, you can see Victoria, BC.
Mary and Stan are both quilters so we sewed both NYE and New Year's Day. My goal was to piece my 1040 triangles into 520 pairs. Mission, accomplished!
Not pressed yet. Next they need to go up on a design wall (after pressing).
But first I had to come home, reluctantly. This was my transportation, lol - a Washington State Ferry. A gorgeous couple of days - colder than usual in the NW.
I wish all of you and your families a wonderful, healthy and quilty 2015.

The quilt is going to be great! It is so much fun to sew with others. I really miss that. And then to be able to do it in such a picturesque place. Ahhhhh .... a perfect vacation.
Wonderful to hear from you again! Congrats on the new projects. Happy quilting.
Good work! You deserve that wonderful vacation. I hope you tease us with more pictures of your quilt while it's in progress! Sounds like you get to "hang" with some creative, dedicated quilters.

That is so cool! The project and the fact you two are friends. It is a lovely looking project. I have gotten to sew some over the holidays too! It has been a while, since starting a long arm quilting business two years ago, "my stuff" has been on the back burner so I did some of that. Beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing!
Hey lady, Happy 2015! Your quilt will be gorgeous...love the fabrics. What a gorgeous spot to spend with friends! It is time to get back to a normal routine!
