Quilt With Us

Now for a funny Valentine's story.  When my husband (gotta love this guy) and I were out to dinner the other night I told him not to get me flowers this year for Valentine's Day.  They are too expensive and I would prefer 12 cans of my favorite soup.  That's right people, I said soup.
I won't go into the reasons why I want the soup except (aside from the obvious) for the most important one which is that it is the only flavor that NEVER goes on sale like the others.
His response was "why should I get you anything when all you do for me is make me a card, you don't even bother to go buy one.  You just give me some home made job".
Like I said before ~ gotta love this guy.  This year he is getting a store bought card.  Which means I have more time to sew.  Yup, gotta love a guy that allows you more time to sew.

You are all so funny with your comments...LOL!  And soup is expensive now.  Most times you can get the Progresso cans on sale at 2/$4 but no, not this one, it's $3.29 most of the time.  Sandy, it's one of their Tomato Basil soups.  They have 3 different tomato soups (I think) and I really have to be there to see the can to know which one.  They are all delicious but the one I like is really high in fiber...a good thing at my age!  LOL  and it tastes yummy too!

My husband and I both have a great sense of humor.  Sometimes my cheeks hurt from laughing with him around.  He really is a great guy.  I gave him one of those giant store bought cards and he was rolling on the floor laughing when he saw it (I left it on his desk opened up).  When he stopped laughing he said 'now there's a problem, where can I keep it'.  He likes to put the cards on display for weeks on end.  I asked him if it was enough to make up for all those crappy home made jobs and he said 'you mean you didn't make this'?  Can't win!

These days a dozen cans of soup would be near as much as a dozen flowers.  I bought soup last week and it was $1.83 a can for the no name brand.

Does your hubby realize how lucky he is to have married someone with such a good sense of humor?   Enjoy your extra sewing time :-D

I say--get something the other person wants! I personally always say I want chocolate. Hubby ignores that, I guess he thinks he's protecting me from myself and I won't gain more weight. Seriously what I want is chocolate! I got tulips, in a pot. Okay that's not chocolate but very nice.

My DH can top that.  He announced this morning that he thought Valentine's day was last week.  Don't know what planet he's been on for the last week!

Soup!!  That doesn't immediately come to mind for Valentine's Day. I also asked my DH to not get flowers for today - I'm allergic to pollen and while I love flowers, they have to stay outside in the garden.  DH knows of my allergies, but somehow thinks Valentine flowers are different.  So here I am with a lovely bouquet in the entryway, red-eyed and sneezing!  CHOCOLATES!  That's what you get for Valentine's day!

Awesome!  A dozen fat quarters or a dozen yards of fabric wouldn't be bad either!
