Happy Valentine's Day and Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day and now it's also The year of the Tiger so Happy New Year. I am a Tiger so I know what kind of year it can bring, look out!!

I have been trying to work on my UFO's, joined a challenge on a quilters forum to finish one each month this year. So far January was a breeze, got it done in plenty of time. Can see pics on my site here, it's the Penny Candy kit from Connecting Threads, did it for my friend Cathy. She loves it and I had a great time doing it. Now I want to finish a flannel snowman quilt for myself, got the backing on Saturday, but didn't get it cut and patched. Yes, the backing has to be patched, but I love the idea as it might turn out reversable. Trouble is I am running out of month, have two baby blankets to make and today I got the news that I have to have my left shoulder replaced.

So I am going in for surgery some where around the 5th of March, not going to be doing a lot of quilting for a while, and no knitting either, drat!! Actually even though I am nervous about it I am glad it is being done. I have lost a lot of range of motion and am in constant pain, more and more pain all the time. The joint is acutally down to bone on bone, no cartlidge left in there at all!! So this will be a good thing.

Of course along with the UFO challenge and baby blankets I am going to be moving out of my apartment at the end of April and into a rental house. Nothing like a challenge or two in life to keep you from getting bored, LOL!! At least I have two sons that will do all the heavy lifting and moving for me, but I still have to pack most of it, slowly and carefully. This was not the vacation or time off from work I had hoped to get soon, but again it is a good thing and I will get back a part of my life I feel like I have lost. So willl keep you updated on my progress and in the mean time all of you keep on quilting!!

I'm impressed! It is great to see a younger person with so much talent and interest in quilting!
