Quilt With Us

Hello my friends.  It's been awhile since I posted.  But I have been in to snoop around and check out what your all doing on your machines.  I have been taking my sister to Bangor at least twice a month for several months. Cancer is back.  This time in her lungs.  She had an MRI last Wed. to see if there is any more in her body.  I haven't heard anything from that test yet.  She will be starting chemo and radiation as soon as they have completed all the tests to see what they are going to do.  We are both exhausted from all these trips and trying to maintain our homes, jobs, and families.  She owns and operates a Pizza/Sub shop.  I did pick up a pattern to make crib bedding for my GG baby when she comes.  Her name will be Melody Rose, due Oct. 16th on her mothers birthday.  I found the perfect fabric for the bedding.  It's $9.50 a yard so I will not be able to make everything in that fabric.  I plan to use it in the quilt and bumper pad and then use a fabric that coorinates for the sheets etc.  I may even buy the sheets if I can find the right color.  Take care everyone ~ Irene

My thoughts and prayers are with you Irene and your sister. I have been there , it was a hard rocky road  and it didn't end well. Take good care of you so you can help your sister.  Congratulations on the baby girl soon to be in your life. Enjoy every visit. Take care Irene.

So very sorry to hear the news of your sister...dreadful disease. She sure has been through the ringer. She's lucky to have you to help her out. I know that can be trying at times....I too have a sister!

Lucky you to look forward to Melody Rose...she sure is starting out with a beautiful name...you might want to ask Mom if she is going to use bumper pads...many are opting not to these days...worried about rolling into them and smothering. It's too expensive and labor intensive to not be used!

Irene...glad to hear from you.  I was wondering where you had gone.  I am so sorry to hear about your sister and her cancer returning.  I will pray for her that these treatments she is enduring will wipe it all away and leave her healthy again.  You take good care of yourself as you sound like you are mentally and physically tired.  Make sure you take some time each day to rest and be with yourself for some quiet time.  I am thrilled to hear about Melody Rose...what a beautiful name!  What joy she will bring you when she arrives.  Keep us posted on both!

Great to hear from you Irene. It is sad about your sister, but it seems we all have either members of our families or close friends that are going through the same or close cancer problems. Right now my cousin, that I am very close to, has been told that there are no more treatments for her. She has been though all kinds of h... and it just hurts to know a another young woman with so much to live for is at the end........................ Praying your sister continues to do better and praying my cousin doesn't suffer long.

Hugs!

So good to hear from you Irene, but sorry that your sister is dealing with the cancer. What a blessing you are to her.  Do take care of yourself, for both of your sake.  Your new GG is going to love her quilt!

Irene, I'm sorry to hear about your sister.  That has to be very difficult.  I hope the MRI gives her good results.

I'm excited to hear about the new grandbaby and that it's a girl! How fun to make stuff for her!!!

I sure miss our chats. I hope your sister gets better rather than worse news from the MRI. I know you are emotionally and physically stressed so please do take good care of yourself and get lots of rest! xoxox

A new GG for you, how exciting!  My sister and my best friend both have daughters that were born on their birthdays.  It will be good to have a happy project to work on while helping your sister deal with the cancer; hopefully she will beat it!

So sorry to hear that your sister's cancer is back and pray that the chemo or radiations will put her back in remission. Melody Rose's crib sound very pretty and it will look wonderful when you are finished with it. The time passes so fast, that she'll be here before you know it. I'll keep you and your's in my prayers. God be with you.
