Quilt With Us

I'm sitting here like a bump on a log. It's 6 a.m. and I hope I get more ambition then I have right now. I haven't had time this week to work on my quilt. Hope to make some progress on it today. Yesterday I cleaned out the fridge. I found stuff in the freezer that had been there so long that a package of chicken looked like dried Cod. And the pork chops looked the same. I need to go get my meat the day I want to cook it. There are three stores within walking distance so I have no excuse to waste my money buying stuff I don't use. The sun is brightly shining this morning and the deer are romping around in the field so I have to muster up some ambition like those deer and get moving. Have a great day everyone.

Hi Carol Ann I have those fires out your way on my prayer list. I hope my prayers are answered soon.  I'm not from Oklahoma. I was born and raised right here in Calais Maine. I lived a few years on Long Island when my now Ex was in the Air force stationed there.  I'm not looking forward to making those King size quilts and I talked with my son Johnny and asked what size his bed is and he said a queen. I have two grandsons I have to check what size theirs are. I hope they tell me they use a sleeping bag. lol Nice to hear from you.

Hello, Irene!  We're mostly housebound here in California due to the smoke from all the fires.  It's darn hard to breathe outside this week!  I have made some progress on UFO's however.

"Bump on a log" made me laugh and reminded me of my mother!  That was one of her phrases, "Well, don't just sit there like a bump on a log, Carol Ann!  Go ..." (do whatever she had asked me to)!  Are you from Oklahoma, by the way, like Mom?"

I have given up on making King size quilts, by the way.   Just too much fabric to wrestle around the sewing machine!  I'm impressed that you are considering two!

Hi Janet, sorry to hear you have to have surgery on your elbow. You're smart to get as much done on your sewing as you can before the surgery. I was hoping to get the time to make my two boys and 5 grand kids a quilt to give them for this Christmas but as slow as I'm going on my own quilt I don't think there is any hope of getting those done. I got 3 of my grand kids and my two great grands done last year. Two of the ones I have to make are King size.

Hi Sharon so nice to hear from you. I feel desperate when I see on t.v. the fires out your way. In addition to this virus it must be very depressing. I'm getting a bit tired of this pandemic. But the virus is still spreading. We have been lucky here in Washington County. Only 14 cases and none here in my town. But we still wear our masks and take precaution. Project Linus is a very good charity. Your time and effort will be appreciated.

I also hope that you have an awesome day!!!  I've found a couple of things in the freezer that were hidden and got rid of them. I try to rotate my meat and I put dates on them when I put them in the freezer and it sure helps. I've been working on quilts for Project Linus and hope to get a few more done. We haven't been able to get together, because of Coronavirus since Feb. We do have a dropping off point that helps and quilts to get delivered to the hospitals. Right now, the smoke is hazardous and no one is going out. The fires are horrendous and are burning up the3 west coast states at an alarming rate. We had wanted to go in our RV again, but there is no place we want to go.

You'll get your ambition back and then you'll be good to go for as along as you need.   Hugs to you. I have wondered about Pam as she hasn't been on for awhile.

I hope you have a great day too.  I have been working on a Christmas gift and hope to have it finished by tomorrow.  Then it will be back to finishing up some other older projects.  I'm having surgery on my right elbow on Oct. 13th so I want to have everything done that has a deadline before then.
