Quilt With Us

I just thought I would share what my "wonderful" husband just said to me, as he came in for the 5th time this morning to check on my progress. He says he cannot tell if I'm having fun because he cannot hear any cursing or swearing [that's what he says happens when he's having "fun"?!?], and he cannot tell if I am having problems, because, unlike his projects, "fabric does not make any noise when it's drop-kicked against the wall".

Oh, Irene, that made me laugh out loud! And yet, like me, you have his picture with yours. Funny.

The only thing that's going to get drop-kicked in my sewing room is the "old man" who keeps coming in and interrupting me to wait on him or the dog.

Yes, this is a good one.  So glad our men have so much in common.  What would we do if we didn't have them to add humor in our lives. (Tell him that your fabric has feelings so you have to watch what you say?)

Thats funny. My husband is the same way. We redid the large area of the basement with inexpensive floor tile and paint. I moved all of my sewing down to the basement. yesterday he put up pegboard for me so I can hang things up. It now looks like a craft store. lol. He comes down to see if I'm ok. Or his favorite trick is to mistakenly send down the 2 dogs which he knows I dont want down there because Oscar will tear things up as opposed to Lou who just waddles over to say hi. lol I have to keep reminding him you were the one who wanted to fix up the basement for me.  It is also known as the She cave lol

Thanks for the chuckle!  I also liked the "blood wipes off steel" comment.

The "drop-kick" comment reminded me of this:  when our son was a little guy and it was time to give each of the kids their own room, we had a "bonus room" that was once used for an office, but was going to be fitted as his bedroom.  The only problem was that it didn't have a door.  When he asked about it, I told him we'd probably just hang a curtain up for him.  He wasn't too sold on that idea and when I asked why, he said, "Can't slam a curtain!"

Funny!  He thinks like a guy alright, could be sharing a brain with my hubby.

Hi, Elaine.  I live in a little town in SE MO.  I thoroughly enjoyed riding but after getting deseated and breaking my left arm and wrist I just wasn't comfortable doing it anymore.  I do miss it though.  Of course, after having my neck, right wrist and jaw broken in a tornado in 02, my family was slightly upset when I started riding anyway.  They didn't think I had any business on a horse! LOL

Hey, Gay! Missouri! My husband grew up in KC on the Kansas side! And, yes, I love that he comes to check on me. He prefers working on metal, himself, because the blood washes off more easily on metal than on fabric. He is quite the comedian.

I am so sorry to hear that you cannot ride anymore! I actually went to high school in Knob Noster, MO [Air Force brat], and rode horses there. I cannot anymore either, because I have severe rheumatoid arthritis, but loved it when I could ride, and my daughter and I even continued to ride when we moved to CA.
